Barrister Amjad Malik welcomed Consul General of Pakistan Tariq Wazir at his chamber and commended Consular Services at the Manchester Consulates despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

His Excellency Tariq Wazir (Consul General of Pakistan at Great Manchester) called on Barrister Amjad Malik, Chair APL and former Chair of the BoG of the OPF at his chambers at Rochdale.  Trade and Commercial Secretary Muhammad Akhtar accompanied him at this occasion.
 
Amjad Malik commended the improved Consular Services and community facilitation standards at the Pakistan Consulates at Manchester. He said modern technology and virtual meetings with the community helped and contributed to face various challenges and during the waves of covid 19. He highlighted the need to jointly tackle issues which directly affect the overall image of Pakistan and suggested ways and means to facilitate the overseas Pakistanis whilst the country is on the UIK travel red list. He emphasised the need to increase representation of Pakistanis here and abroad at the forum of decision-making bodies.
 
On this occasion, Consul General Tariq Wazir stated that provision of better Consular Services was one of the top priorities of the Mission. He said that he is doing his utmost to positively hear suggestions and build an infrastructure to implement them in an organised manner. He welcomed ideas of development, investment representations and his desire to bridge the gap between institutions and the general public.
 
Muhammad Akhtar trade and commercial secretary confirmed that he is engaging with chamber, overseas investor and importer and exporters to enhance efforts of investment. He confirmed that discussions are already underway to resolve trade disputes in an essential manner.
 
Barrister Amjad Malik, former Chairman Board of Governors of Overseas Pakistanis expressed his commitment to continue to have a dialogue to resolve the issues faced by the community. He presented a shield to Consul General on behalf of the APL and his book ‘Road to Pakistan ‘ to visiting guests which entails his work in Pakistan and overseas.
 
Earlier, Mr Malik hosted a luncheon in honour of the visiting Delegates where both interacted with each other on community issues and policy matters.
