Hasil Bizenjo was treated at a private hospital here after falling ill, sources further said.
A day earlier, Bizenjo who had been nominated by the opposition for Senate chairman failed to obtain a post after the no–confidence resolution against Sadiq Sanjrani failed.
Following voting on the resolution, opposition parties claimed horse-trading had taken place after 14 of their senators did not vote in favour. Bizenjo speaking to reporters implicated the head of a national premier institution.
Director-General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor dismissed Senator Mir Hasil Bizenjo’s allegations implicating the head of a national premier institution as “unfounded”.
In a post on Twitter, the DG ISPR said, “Remarks by Senator Mir Hasil Bizenjo implicating head of national premier institution are unfounded. The tendency to bring entire democratic process into disrepute for petty political gains doesn’t serve democracy.”
