Mastung, Balochistan
In a significant counter-terror operation in the Mastung district of Balochistan, three terrorists belonging to the India-backed militant group “Fitna al-Hindustan” were eliminated by Pakistani security forces. The operation, however, came at a heavy cost as a brave Major and a soldier of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was launched based on credible intelligence regarding the presence of hostile elements in the region. The troops swiftly and effectively neutralized the terrorist hideout.
During the intense exchange of fire, Major Zaid Saleem Awal, who was leading the charge from the frontlines, was martyred in the line of duty. Alongside him, Sepoy Nazm Hussain also laid down his life for the motherland.
The ISPR added that a clearance and sanitization operation is still underway in the region amid intelligence of possible remaining threats. The armed forces remain resolute in their mission to eradicate India-sponsored terrorism from Pakistani soil.
Tributes from the Nation
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif hailed the successful operation, paying glowing tribute to the martyred soldiers. He praised their valor, stating:“The nation salutes Major Zaid and Sepoy Nazm who became a steel wall against terrorists. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten.”
He reaffirmed the country’s unwavering commitment to eliminating all forms of terrorism and expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs.
