Arrest Warrants Issued for KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur in Liquor and Illegal Weapons Case
Arrest Warrants Issued for KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur in Liquor & Weapons Case

Islamabad – July 19, 2025
A district and sessions court in Islamabad has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in connection with a long-standing case involving the recovery of liquor and illegal weapons
The court rejected Gandapur’s request for exemption from personal appearance and directed authorities to ensure his arrest and produce him before the court by July 21.
Case Background:
The case has been pending for over eight years, with the prosecution recording witness statements since May 2024. The court expressed frustration over Gandapur’s continued non-appearance and observed that the accused was deliberately avoiding the legal process.
The court further stated that the ruling of the Peshawar High Court does not prohibit the issuance of arrest warrants in this matter.
Court’s Remarks:
The judge granted one final opportunity to the KP Chief Minister to record his statement under Section 342 of the Criminal Procedure Code, warning that failure to appear could lead to a verdict in his absence and the forfeiture of his right to testify.
Political Context:
This legal development comes days after Gandapur announced the launch of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) new protest campaign, dubbed a “do-or-die movement,” which is expected to culminate on August 5.
The campaign was initiated on the instructions of PTI founder Imran Khan, who remains incarcerated.
