BAGH: Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s AJK President Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi was arrested from Samahni on Sunday, police officials confirmed.
According to police sources, arrest warrants had been issued against Niazi in connection with the May 9, 2023 riots case. He was taken into custody from the Jandi Chontra area of Samahni, district Bhimber, while he was reportedly on a one-day visit to the region.
Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi served as the 13th Prime Minister of AJK from August 4, 2021, to April 14, 2022.
