Babar Azam Breaks ODI World Record for Most Runs in 129 Innings

Trinidad: Pakistan defeated West Indies by five wickets in the first ODI of the three-match series to take a 1-0 lead, while former captain Babar Azam achieved a major milestone in ODI cricket history.


Scoring 47 runs in the match, Babar became the fastest player to score the most runs in 129 ODI innings. He has now accumulated 6,282 runs in 132 matches at an average of 55.10, including 19 centuries and 32 half-centuries.


The previous record was held by South Africa’s Hashim Amla, who had scored 6,224 runs in the same number of innings.Batting first, West Indies posted 280 runs in 49 overs, with Evin Lewis scoring 60, captain Shai Hope 55, and Roston Chase 53.


For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi claimed 4 wickets, Naseem Shah took 3, while Saim Ayub, Sufiyan Muqeem, and Agha Salman took one wicket each.In reply, Pakistan chased down the target in the 49th over for the loss of five wickets.


Debutant Hasan Nawaz impressed with 63 runs, while Hussain Talat remained unbeaten on 41.
