Iran closes Strait of Hormuz AGAIN after Israeli strikes on Lebanon

Iran has once again announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz hours after agreeing to open the key oil route in a ceasefire deal with the U.S.

Iran’s Fars news agency, associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported the news of closure, saying it was in retaliation to Israel’s massive airstrikes on Lebanon.

Israel used over 50 jets in its largest airstrikes on Beirut after the U.S. and Iran agreed to a cessation of fire for 14 days.

Pakistan mediated the peace talks and said that Lebanon was included in the deal; however, Israel rejected the claim and vowed to continue attacks against Hezbollah.

According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, the latest strikes have resulted in killing of over 112 people and 837 were injured.

Reacting to the brazen Israeli attacks, aerospace commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard General Seyed Majid Mousavi took to X and wrote, “Aggression towards Lebanon is aggression towards Iran.”

He also warned that Iran was preparing for heavy retaliation without sharing much details.

This comes after the U.S. Vice President JD Vance described the ceasefire as a fragile deal.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has condemned Israeli attacks on Lebanon. He took to X and wrote, “Just today, Netanyahu launches his harshest attack against Lebanon since the offensive began. His contempt for life and international law is intolerable. It’s time to speak clearly: Lebanon must be included in the ceasefire.”

He continued, “The international community must condemn this new violation of international law. The European Union must suspend its Association Agreement with Israel. And there must be no impunity for these criminal acts.”

Earlier, Iran opened the Strait of Hormuz and two oil tankers were allowed to pass with permission of Iran.
