
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is celebrating its 78th Independence Day with patriotic fervor, colorful events, and dazzling illuminations. This year’s theme has been dedicated to the “Great Victory of Truth”, reflecting the nation’s resilience and unity.
Nation Welcomes the Day at Midnight
As the clock struck 12, the skies over cities and towns lit up with spectacular fireworks. Streets, buildings, and landmarks were decorated with national flags and fairy lights. Citizens dressed in green and white, wearing badges and waving flags, poured into the streets chanting “Pakistan Zindabad” in spirited rallies and processions.
Traditional Ceremonies and Festivities
The day began with a 21-gun salute in the federal capital and all provincial capitals, followed by special prayers in mosques for the country’s security, stability, and prosperity.
In Karachi, the traditional guard-changing ceremony was held at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, attended by political and social dignitaries who paid tribute to the founder’s struggle.
In Islamabad, a defence exhibition is being held at the Parade Ground, open for public viewing.
A Message of Strength and Unity
Leaders and citizens alike reiterated their resolve to respond with full force if India attempted any form of aggression. Overseas Pakistanis are also marking the occasion with national celebrations and special events at embassies worldwide.
