Mastung,In a shocking act of violence in Balochistan, a man and his pregnant wife were brutally murdered by her brothers seven years after marrying without their family’s consent. The couple, who had a court marriage, were lured and killed near the Lakpass area in Mastung.
According to Levies officials, Muhammad Shoaib Khan, a resident of Panjgur, was traveling with his pregnant wife Benazir and his brother to Quetta. On the way, they stopped at a private hotel in the Lakpass area, near the Noshki crossing. Late at night, armed men arrived at the hotel and opened fire, killing the husband and wife on the spot.
Authorities revealed that the killers were the woman’s brothers, who had invited the couple to Quetta under the guise of reconciliation. The brothers reportedly traced their location via a phone call and carried out the planned attack early in the morning.
Shoaib and Benazir had gotten married nearly seven years ago in a court in Quetta. While the families were initially against the marriage, they had recently reached a truce. However, this recent incident suggests that the reconciliation was a ruse.
After the double murder, the suspects fled the scene. Levies forces responded promptly, shifting the bodies to a local hospital and launching a formal investigation. A case has been registered, and a search operation for the suspects is underway.
