The Italian government has approved the new Flow Decree (DPCM), outlining legal immigration plans for foreign workers, including Pakistanis, for 2026, 2027, and 2028. This decree sets job quotas, employment types, and visa procedures for non-EU workers seeking work in Italy.

Job Quotas Under the Flow Decree
Italy will welcome nearly 500,000 foreign workers over three years across agriculture, tourism, construction, logistics, manufacturing, and caregiving. Annual quotas are:

How to Apply for Italy Work Visa from Pakistan

  1. Get a Job Offer in Italy
    Pakistani applicants must first secure a formal job offer from an Italian employer.
  2. Employer Requests Work Authorization (Nulla Osta/NOC)
    The employer applies online via ALI Immigration Portal during official click-day windows.
  3. Apply for Type D Work Visa
    Once approved, the nulla osta is sent to the worker, who applies for the visa at the Italian Embassy or Consulate in Pakistan. Required documents:
    • Valid passport
    • Work contract & nulla osta
    • Proof of financial means
    • Health insurance
  4. Travel to Italy & Obtain Residence Permit
    Workers must apply for a residence permit (permesso di soggiorno) within 8 days of arrival to live and work legally.
