Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s Meeting with the Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Honorable Tarique Rahman, on the Occasion of the United Nations General Assembly Session
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a bilateral meeting with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Honorable Mr. Tarique Rahman, in New York on the occasion of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Both Prime Ministers reviewed the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh and expressed satisfaction over the positive progress in the relations.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif congratulated Bangladesh on assuming the presidency of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly and reiterated support for Bangladesh’s endeavors to promote the objectives of the United Nations.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthen and deepen bilateral relations with Bangladesh based on mutual interests.
The Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Mr. Tarique Rahman, also expressed goodwill and satisfaction over the positive progress in relations between the two countries, and voiced a deep desire to further promote relations with Pakistan.
Both Prime Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation in various sectors, including trade, investment, education, tourism, and people-to-people contacts.
Both leaders also exchanged views on regional and global affairs and emphasized the importance of continued contact and cooperation in multilateral forums, particularly the United Nations.
