SPINWAM – Six armed forces personnel, including a senior officer, embraced martyrdom in an intelligence based operation (IBO) in southwestern region of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the military’s media wing said.
A statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations ISPR said security forces engaged in a significant encounter with Khwarij militants in the Spinwam area. Six militants were eliminated but tragically, it also cost the lives of six brave soldiers, including Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shoukat, aged 43, who was leading his troops from the front.
Lieutenant Colonel Shoukat, a resident of Faisalabad, fought valiantly during the intense exchange of fire, ultimately embracing shahadat alongside five of his dedicated men.
Those who were martyred include Lance Naik Muhammad Ullah, 31, from District Khyber, Lance Naik Akhtar Zaman, 30, from District Lakki Marwat, Lance Naik Shahid Ullah, 29, from District Tank, Lance Naik Yusaf Ali, 31, from District Orkazai, and Sepoy Jameel Ahmed, 26, from District Swat.
Security forces are conducting thorough sanitization operation in the area to eliminate any remaining threats posed by militants. The sacrifices made by these courageous soldiers underscore the determination of the Pakistani military to eradicate the menace of terrorism.
Military officials further expressed condolences to families of the fallen heroes and reiterated their commitment to ensuring peace and security in the region.
