ISLAMABAD – An agreement has been reached between Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on the draft of the constitutional amendment.
In a joint press conference in Karachi, Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated that both parties have agreed on the draft of the constitutional amendment, and Bilawal Bhutto played a significant role in achieving this consensus.
He added that the previously rejected draft is still unacceptable, and they expect all parties to prioritise the Constitution. Everyone must work together to safeguard it, he added.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari mentioned that Maulana Fazlur Rehman is meeting Nawaz Sharif tomorrow, and they have also been invited to dinner.
He further said that the consensus reached between PPP and JUI today should ideally include PML-N as well. He expressed optimism that this consensus will form the foundation of the bill.
