The Australian Association of Pakistani Professionals (AAPP) proudly hosted a warm and vibrant reception dinner in honour of the recently appointed Consul General of Pakistan in Melbourne, Mr. Wajid Hussain Hashmi. The event was held on Thursday , the 10th of July 2025
The event brought together a diverse group of Pakistani community leaders, professionals, and AAPP leadership to formally welcome the Consul General and introduce key community initiatives.
Dr. Majid Naeem Gondal, AAPP President, warmly welcomed Mr. Hashmi.
Dr. Yousuf Ahmad, AAPP Chair, presented an overview of AAPP and its key projects supporting the Pakistani-Australian community.
Prof. Tayyab introduced an innovative project on the Circular Economy, aiming at sustainable community solutions.
Mr. Rafique Shakir addressed the pressing challenges faced by international students and discussed potential collaborative strategies with the Consul General.
Mr. Wajid Hashmi expressed his commitment to act as a bridge between the Pakistani community and Australian institutions, working proactively to resolve community issues and support integration and growth.
The evening also included introductions of key community leaders and fruitful discussions on future initiatives.
A delicious traditional Pakistani dinner, catered by Handi Kitchen, added warmth and flavour to the evening and was thoroughly enjoyed by all attendees.
AAPP looks forward to working closely with Mr. Hashmi and the Consulate to continue building a stronger, united, and empowered Pakistani-Australian community.
