Had the pleasure of meeting the President of the European Council H.E. Mr. Antonio Costa, and the European Commission President H.E. Ursula von der Leyen, on the sidelines of UNGA in New York.
We had a productive exchange on the growing Pakistan-EU partnership and agreed on the importance of sustained high-level engagement to further deepen our cooperation.
I underscored the vital importance of GSP+ for Pakistan’s trade, economic growth and employment, and reaffirmed our commitment to continued engagement with the EU under this important framework.
We also exchanged views on regional and global developments, underscoring the need for dialogue, diplomacy, respect for international law and peaceful resolution of disputes.
I look forward to welcoming both Presidents to Pakistan and working closely with the EU leadership to take our mutually beneficial partnership to new heights.
