Lisbon, Portugal ;The EU Pak Friendship Federation Portugal and Tehreek-e-Azadi Kashmir Europe jointly organized a historic and grand programme in Lisbon, Portugal, on May 17, 2026, to celebrate the completion of Jashan-e-Marqa-e-Haq and Operation Bunyanun Marsoos. This marked the second major programme held in connection with the celebrations of Marqa-e-Haq and Operation Bunyanun Marsoos across Europe.
The event became one of the largest gatherings of overseas Pakistanis in Europe, attracting participants from diverse communities and age groups, including children as young as six years old to senior citizens aged seventy. Members of the Kashmiri and Sikh communities actively participated, with attendees arriving from Sweden, Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, and other parts of Europe.
Thousands of participants joined the celebrations with enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. Attendees carried large flags of Pakistan and Kashmir, along with portraits of Chief of Defence Forces & Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir. The atmosphere echoed with slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad,” “Pakistan Army Zindabad,” and “Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir Zindabad.”
The historic gathering was organized by President EU Pak Friendship Federation Portugal, Syed Qasim Sajjad Shah, along with Chairman Tehreek Azadi Kashmir Europe Raja Hasnain Nawaz, Sheikh Ajar, and Sagheer Ahmed.
President EU Pak Friendship Federation Italy, Qaisar Bashir King, specially participated in the celebrations. Amna Farooq from World Reach Pakistan Group and Hira Bukhari from LCP Group also attended the event in support of the Marqa-e-Haq celebrations.
Chairman EU Pak Friendship Federation Europe, Dr. Perveiz Iqbal Lohsar (Tamgha-i-Khidmat), attended the occasion as Chief Guest, while the programme was presided over by the Head of Chancery of the Pakistan Embassy in Portugal, Umair Khan.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Lohsar stated that Pakistan’s Armed Forces are the guardians of the state and will defend the country at all costs. Referring to the Indian attacks of May 2025, he said that Pakistan had given a strong response to Indian aggression and delivered a lesson that would be remembered for generations.
He praised the leadership of Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir and commended his decisive role during the war, stating that his leadership not only defended the motherland but also inflicted a humiliating defeat upon the enemy.
Dr. Lohsar further praised the Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy for their decisive contributions. He stated that the brave pilots of the Pakistan Air Force taught the enemy a befitting lesson by downing eight fighter jets, while the Pakistan Navy, through exceptional strategy and preparedness, kept enemy ships thousands of miles away.
He emphasized that Pakistan remains a preacher of peace in the region and around the world, but is fully capable of defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any future aggression.
A special highlight of the programme was a young child’s instrumental guitar performance of the patriotic National Anthem and Dil Dil Pakistan, which received great appreciation from the audience and reflected the younger generation’s love for Pakistan.
Young members of the overseas Pakistani community, including boys and girls born and raised in Portugal, also expressed their deep love and affection for Pakistan and enthusiastically celebrated the victory of Marqa-e-Haq.
Members of the Kashmiri and Sikh communities also celebrated Marqa-e-Haq during the event and reiterated their continued commitment to the Kashmir and Khalistan causes.
Chairman EU Pak Friendship Federation Europe, Dr. Perveiz Iqbal Lohsar, announced that the month of May would continue to be observed as the “Month of Celebrations of Marqa-e-Haq,” with additional programmes planned across various European countries in the coming weeks.
The event concluded with renewed expressions of unity, patriotism, and solidarity among overseas Pakistanis and supporters of Pakistan and Kashmir living across Europe.
