Woman Burned Alive Over Dowry in Noida

Uttar Pradesh (A1tv News) A horrific incident was reported from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, where in-laws allegedly set a woman, Nikki, on fire in front of her son for failing to bring dowry.

According to Indian media, Nikki was married in 2016. Just months after her marriage, her in-laws began pressuring her for dowry and subjected her to repeated abuse. The family revealed that the in-laws demanded ₹3.6 million along with other valuables, calling the dowry given “insufficient.”

On the day of the incident, Nikki was brutally beaten and later doused with petrol before being set ablaze in front of her child. She was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries.

Her sister, Kanchan, who is also married into the same family, stated that both sisters had suffered harassment for years. She alleged that she too was severely beaten that night and was told, “If you die, we will arrange another marriage.”

Police confirmed that Nikki’s husband has been arrested, while a case has been registered and further suspects are being traced.
