Federal religious affairs minister Abdul Shakoor dies in road accident

ISLAMABAD(a1tv news)Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Mufti Abdul Shakoor died in a road accident on Saturday, the Islamabad police confirmed.

Capital police said that the JUI-F MNA Shakoor’s car was hit by a Hilux Revo, carrying five passengers, when he was on his way to the Secretariat chowk from Marriott hotel. “He was shifted to Polyclinic hospital but he could not be resuscitated to life,” the police added.

Upon reports, rescue teams and the police reached the spot. The rescue teams provided first aid to the injured and the police launched an investigation into the incident. The police reported that the car and passengers were taken into custody.

Condolences

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his condolences on the sad demise saying “he was saddened to hear about the sudden death of a member of his cabinet”.
